Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson Extends Run at the Public Theater

Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson has extended its limited engagement at the Public Theater. Written and directed by Alex Timbers, with a score by Michael Friedman, the show was originally set to close on April 25. It will now play through May 9, 2010.

A brash rock musical about the country we live in and the leaders we choose, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson redefines America’s seventh president, the man who invented the Democratic Party and doubled the size of our nation, using a blend of comedy, anarchic theatricality and an emo rock score.

Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson features title star Benjamin Walker, as well as River Aguirre, James Barry, Michael Crane, Michael Dunn, Greg Hildreth, Jeff Hiller, Lucas Near-Verbrugghe, Maria Elena Ramirez, Kate Cullen Roberts, Ben Steinfeld, Colleen Werthmann and Emily Young.
